I’m a recent graduate from Kent State University, where I received my M.A. in Public Relations. This is a far cry from where I began my education. I originally attended the University of Toledo to study Computer Science Engineering. After two semesters, I quickly realized I was never going to be happy as a computer programmer.

I walked over to UT’s Student Center intending to meet with a counselor to discuss other options. Before reaching the office I strolled past a sign featuring the “Major of the Month”. Lo and behold, that major happened to be Communication.

After switching majors, I became involved with PRSSA and found the wealth of options afforded by Public Relations. I spent two years as my chapter’s Treasurer, making friends and networking at the various national conferences. I came to understand that PR professionals become successful by seizing opportunity and turning it into experience.

I seized opportunity in the summer of 2008 by taking an internship with Exposure USA. They are a creative communications group in New York City specializing in clients of consumer lifestyle brands. I was exposed to a variety of international clients and participated in the planning and execution of PR, Marketing, and Design campaigns.

Shortly thereafter, I graduated a semester early from UT and returned to my hometown to further my education at KSU. As always, I am driven by the search for new and exciting opportunities. I hope to prove myself in the field as a valuable company asset by bringing my unique experiences and personality to the table.
