Written Work

This page is dedicated to showcase my writing style and familiarity with research. The following examples were completed for both undergraduate and graduate level coursework.

Master’s Professional Project – JMC Graduate Student Forum

For my final Master’s Degree requirement, I built a social network for graduate students in the Journalism and Mass Communication program at Kent State University. In addition to the deliverable site, I wrote a comprehensive essay supporting my project. It incorporates communication theory and social media research in relation to the project’s implementation.

Media Relations and Publicity

For this course I selected a local client and developed a prospective media plan. This involved client research and the development of pitch packages to communicate key messages and reach target audiences.

PR Tactics

For this course I chose a local non-profit client and proposed an event to raise funds and awareness. The proposal included an oral presentation and written plan.

Calwest HR Program

For a Business Management course I was given a case study to solve. This involved implementing an HR program to handle problems with a fictional company’s branch manager. I outlined a potential management program, performance review, and time line.

Folklore Research Paper

I enjoy diversifying my education, which is why I chose to take a class on Folklore. When communicating with audiences, it’s important to understand their various traditions. This paper is an examination of Halloween in modern U.S. culture. It includes research collected through personal field work at the University of Toledo.

Financial Management Company Analysis

For Financial Management I was tasked with analyzing a company experiencing financial problems. I chose Sony Corp. for it’s recent company losses, and advised possible PR solutions.

Internet Law

Understanding the laws governing communication is important for industry professionals. The following research paper analysis current regulation regarding the Internet and implications for the future of the medium.

JMC Graduate Student Research

For my Research Methods course, my class sent out a survey to Journalism and Mass Communication graduates. We analyzed trends regarding employment to gain insight to the success of graduates after college.
